======= 41st ANNUAL S.V.A. CONFERENCE & STONEWALL VETERANS REUNION =======
The S.V.A. produced this annual event featuring actual Stonewall veterans
of the 1969 Gay Stonewall Rebellion.  The S.V.A. presented this exciting,
entertaining and ultimate Gay Pride event happening on Saturday, June 26th
at the GLBT Center.  Guest speakers included U.S. Congressmember Yvette D.
Clarke (the S.V.A.’s Honotray Female Chairperson), N.Y.S. Supreme Court
Justice Doris Ling-Cohan and N.Y.S. Senator Eric Schneiderman!  We held a
memorial tribute for all of the Stonewall veterans who have passed during
the last four decades, mostly from the AIDS War!  The keynote speaker was
famed civil rights attorney Hal “Hally” Weiner!  Live music was performed
by Gay folk singer Sandy Rapp and deejay playing of many 1969 “Songs of
The Stonewall Club”!  To view more of the SVA conference and reunion 411:

========== “STONEWALL” MOVIE RE-RELEASED ==========
The only actual film made about the Stonewall Era, the Stonewall People
and the Stonewall Rebellion has been re-released on DVD!  The original
movie was filmed in 1994, edited in 1995 and released in 1996.  It was
produced by Gay Christine Vachon (US) and directed by Gay Nigel Finch
(UK).  The SVA STONEWALL Veterans’ Association is acknowledged in the
movie’s “Credits” for our factual Stonewall experiences recreated in
the film.  S.V.A. director Williamson (also in “Credits”) arranged for
the Stonewall veteran ‘testimonials’ which are prominently featured at
the beginning before it effectively segues into the exciting movie.
Notice that the S.V.A.’s Queen Allyson is also listed in ‘credits’.

+++++ STONEWALL Veterans Monument Proposal +++++
Now that we have completed the 40th anniversary
of the Stonewall Rebellion, the originators of
the planned “Stonewall Monument”, the SVA, are
resubmitting the major plan for this monument.
Besides marching in all our Gay Pride parades,
GLBT groups and public officials, et al. ought
to support this worthwhile and ovedue project.
It will be discussed at the next SVA meeting!
