Queer Slang is back!

9 May

ACO returns to give us an L-word.

Lavender Law (n): refers to legal issues and government rulings that pertain to or have an impact on the LGBT community.

ACO says: Basically…lavender’s a bit better than violet, right?

There’s actually an area of linguistics called Lavender Linguistics. Wikipedia says the term is used “to describe the study of language used by gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) speakers.”

    Here’s a link if anyone’s interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavender_linguistics

Oooh! Thanks for the link, first because it is very interesting and second because it got me to do a lot of “related article” clicking and eventually arrive at the Fruit Machine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fruit_machine
