Date Night: You’re Clueless

10 Feb

She’s given you absolutely no sign of her interests, her friends, her major, her hometown… (You have met, right?) Here’s how to handle the situation when you’re totally, utterly baffled.

Outing: courtesy of Surprise Industries

Every relationship needs the element of surprise. On this adventurous date, Surprise Industries team member will blindfold you and a group and lead you to a random surprise, usually a class of some sort. Cooking? Fire eating? Kung Fu? It could be anything, but it’s sure to be outside of your normal routine. With price tags ranging from $25 to $4,000, there’s a surprise that’s just right for your wallet! (Bonus: mention Thrillist for 10% off.)

Meal: courtesy of Urban Spoon

A fun roulette game if you’re indecisive or adventurous, Urban Spoon’s phone app (available for both iPhones and Blackberries) randomly generates an NYC restaurant for you to try. You can narrow the search by neighborhood, type of cuisine and price range, if she suddenly has a craving for Portuguese food. The generator isn’t perfect; you’re not going to find hole-in-the-wall gems, and sometimes it returns No Searches Found (what do you mean there aren’t any cheap French brunch spots in Chinatown?) Give it a whirl!

And if things go really well…

Follow-up gift: courtesy of The Something Store

Pay $10 and within a week, your sweetie will receive… something! Pair of sunglasses? Key chain? Cute purse? Jet skis? Helicopter? All possibilities (and they ship for free.) Order two and schedule a second date to compare your loot!

I’m not sure what you mean. You can order a Something for yourself or for someone else, yes, but there’s no way of telling what it’ll be till it arrives.
